Online pokies in Queensland follow the same national law as the rest of the country, but the Sunshine State has one quirk that genuinely affects how you claim promotions: it does not use daylight saving. That makes the gap between your clock and the casino's a little different from your mates in Sydney or Melbourne for half the year.
Below we cover the legal position, Queensland's own pokies landscape, timing tips for Fair Go's weekly offers and why we rate Fair Go Casino for Queenslanders aged 18 and over. For the national view, see online pokies Australia.

Are online pokies legal in Queensland?
Queensland cannot license an online casino, because online casino games are dealt with in Canberra under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. The Act bans operators from offering online pokies, roulette, blackjack and similar games to Australians. It does not penalise a Queenslander who chooses to play.
The catch is protection, not prosecution:
- Every real money online pokies site, Fair Go included, is offshore. Fair Go operates on a Curaçao licence.
- ACMA can block offshore casino web addresses at any time.
- Queensland's gaming regulators oversee local venues only, so there is no Australian body to hear a complaint against an offshore casino.

Queensland's pokies landscape
Queenslanders have pokies in pubs and clubs right across the state, from Brisbane's inner suburbs to coastal towns and the bush. On top of that there are casinos in Brisbane, on the Gold Coast, in Townsville and in Cairns, so many locals are used to a big night out including a few spins.
Distance is the other factor. In regional and remote Queensland the nearest club can be a long drive away, and that is part of why online play appeals. The flip side is that a phone in your pocket is always open, so a firm budget matters more online than it does at a venue with closing time.
No daylight saving: what it means for Fair Go promos
Queensland stays on AEST all year. From October to April, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and the ACT move an hour ahead of you, which is why Coolangatta and Tweed Heads famously sit in different times each summer. Fair Go's promotions run on casino time, so the safest assumption is that your Monday and the casino's Monday may not start at exactly the same moment.
| Promo | Code | Window (casino time) |
|---|---|---|
| Koala Monday | KOALAMO | All day Monday, tiered by deposit size |
| Fun Monday | FUNMON | 25 free spins Monday, for deposits Saturday to Monday |
| Fair Draw | Automatic | Friday to Thursday, random $50 to $500 bonuses |
Ask the 24/7 live chat for the current casino time if you are cutting it fine. Live codes are on our Fair Go bonus codes page.
Why Fair Go works for Queensland players

- AUD accounts, so your balance reads in dollars you understand.
- Browser play on any phone or tablet. There is no native app, but the site runs in Safari or Chrome on iOS and Android, handy if you are out west with patchy signal and do not want a large download.
- 24/7 live chat every day of the year.
- Flexible deposits: cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Neosurf, CashtoCode, eZeeWallet, JET Bank Transfer and crypto from Bitcoin to Tether, all free.
- 280+ SpinLogic Gaming pokies (formerly RealTime Gaming), including progressive titles like Aztec's Millions.
Honesty check: no live dealer tables, no sportsbook, and no PayID or POLi. Our Fair Go Casino review covers all of it.

Frequently asked questions
No. The federal Interactive Gambling Act makes it illegal for operators to offer online casino games to Australians, but it does not make playing an offence. Queensland has no separate law that criminalises players. The downside is that offshore casinos have no Australian regulator overseeing them.
Queensland does not use daylight saving, while the casino runs promotions on its own casino time. The gap between your clock and the casino's can differ from what NSW players see. Confirm with live chat before claiming KOALAMO or FUNMON near midnight.
Yes. Fair Go runs in the mobile browser on iOS and Android, with no app to download. As long as you have a data connection you can log in through Safari or Chrome. There is no native app in either app store.
Bitcoin and eZeeWallet are free, while wire transfers carry a $50 fee. All methods allow $100 to $2,500 per transfer, and Fair Go aims to process requests within two business days. Verify your ID early so your first withdrawal is not held up.

Yes. If you deposit $10 or more without a bonus code and the deposit busts, you can ask live chat for 25% instant cashback, or 30% on Saturdays and Sundays. Some players prefer this to wagering through a match bonus, since cashback keeps things simpler.
