Online pokies in Victoria sit under the same national rules as everywhere else, but Victorian players come at the topic with their own context: one major casino on the Yarra, a long-running public debate about pokies in pubs and clubs, and a strong local help network. This page pulls that together and explains where Fair Go Casino fits for Victorians aged 18 and over.
We are an independent guide, and we will tell you the limitations as well as the positives. For the bigger picture across every state, see our online pokies Australia guide.

Is it legal to play online pokies in Victoria?
Victoria's own gambling laws cover venues, the casino and licensed wagering. Online casino games are a Commonwealth matter under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001. That Act prohibits operators from offering online pokies and similar casino games to people in Australia. It does not make playing them a crime for the individual.
What that means in practice for a Victorian:
- There is no Victorian or Australian licence for an online pokies site. Fair Go operates under a Curaçao licence.
- ACMA may block offshore casino domains, so an address that worked last month might not work today.
- The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission oversees local venues and Crown, not offshore websites. You would have no local body to take a complaint to.
Our guide is online gambling legal in Australia explains the law in plain English.
Pokies in Victoria: Crown, pubs and clubs
Crown Melbourne at Southbank is Victoria's only casino, and it has been under intense regulatory scrutiny in recent years. Outside the casino, gaming machines are found in hotels and clubs across Melbourne's suburbs and regional centres like Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo.
Victorians are used to pokies being a public policy issue, with ongoing discussion of venue caps and harm-reduction measures. Online, those venue-level protections do not follow you. An offshore casino will not enforce Victorian venue rules, so the guardrails are the ones you set yourself.
Melbourne time and Fair Go's promo calendar
Melbourne runs on AEST, moving to AEDT for daylight saving from October to April. Fair Go's promotions follow casino time, and the casino does not adjust its week to suit Melbourne. Keep these windows in mind:
- Koala Monday (KOALAMO): a tiered bonus by deposit size, all day Monday casino time.
- Fun Monday (FUNMON): 25 free spins on Monday for deposits made Saturday to Monday, on Hyper Wins, Mermaid Pearls or Mega Monster.
- Fair Draw: a weekly draw running Friday to Thursday, with random bonuses from $50 to $500.
- VIP Thursday: VIP bonuses land in the casino inbox every Thursday.
If you like a Sunday night session after the footy, check with live chat whether it is already Monday on the casino clock. All current codes sit on our Fair Go bonus codes page.
